Facing Fears, Getting Guidance, Stress, Identifying your fears are just a few of the topics included in this series. This series is one of our most popular because it speaks directly to students lives. Everyone in your youth group will benefit from these messages, this is likely to include the teacher as well.
Week 1 Ñ Dealing with Stress
Every single person in your ministry suffers through some stressful periods in their lives. If you are not a stress case yet, you probably will be. School and tests, parents, relationships, there's so many places in our lives that stress can show up. You'll find some great truths about stress, like stress makes us very self-centered, and we have average relationships. Stress forces us to think about ourselves, and being in a progressive society doesn't help either, it just adds to the load. This message will provide you with some action steps to avoid stress, and replace it with God's peace in your life...who wouldn't want that?
Week 2 - Friendships & Stress and A Built-In Answer
God has wired us to be in relationship; with him and with others. You'll discover the qualities of an effective friend. When you have healthy friendships some of your stress is decreased. Friendships bring out the best in us, and a healthy friendship looks out for the best in others. You'll find some great and surprising truths about friendships that will be great stress relievers in your students lives.
Week 3 - How to Make Great Decisions
One of the things all of us have in common is all of us have to make decisions. On any given day, you probably make at least a hundred decisions. Many of them minor decisions that don't have many consequences, but you'll find that the quality of your life will be determined by the wisdom or the foolishness of your decisions. Decisions are nothing to take lightly, and God is very concerned about the decisions that we make. This message identifies some of the stresses that come with decision making, and some steps to avoid the traps we fall into when making decisions based on our own processes.
Week 4 Ñ Getting Guidance for your Decisions
God wants to help you make decisions. He's given you his love letter as the standard for some of those decisions so you will know what's right and you will know what's wrong. God's all about getting guidance for making decisions. The Bible is based on God's supernatural wisdom that is not only true but it stands the test of time. Help your students make wise choices on making decisions based not on things internal or external, but on things eternal.
Week 5 Ñ Why am I Here Anyway?
Have you ever heard this from your students? "I just don't know what life is all about. Why am I here?" That's the biggest question I get from students in my ministry. They want to know what their significance is in life. As we dig deeper into significance of live, we find that we are all living our lives for ourselves. When you live your life for yourself you know what it leads to? It leads to pride. When we're prideful, we're not satisfied and most often it leads to insecurity. Selfishness and pride says, "I'm in control." Significance says "God's in control."
Week 6 Ñ Pursuing Significance in Life
If you're going to do something significant with your life, it requires that you take belief and action. If beliefs determine our actions, and the more significant the belief the greater the action you will take. Strong beliefs can take two forms, the worlds way or God's way. This message will take a look at several beliefs and where they will take us in life, from the selfish cycle to how can God actually use you to do is work, and how to take steps to significance.
Week 7 - How to Face Your Fears
It's a reality of life, we all have these fears. We think it's easier to run from them than to face them. It's our normal tendency to run, but we always get hurt if we do. This message is about how we should face our fears. We have problems with our past, present and future, and many things that haunt us. Learn how to replace guilt and worry with direction and peace.
Week 8 - Why it's Important to have Good Looking Feet
In the real world fear and pain are everywhere. Most people with fear and pain are looking for good news. This message coveys that even in the midst of the pain and the fear, the good news is that you never have to be alone because God totally loves you. Most of the people that have given their life to God, were in the midst of pain and they've tried everything the world had to offer but it didn't satisfy that pain. Challenge your students deliver the good news in many ways.
Week 9 Ñ How to Avoid a Fall
The Bible doesn't say that God hates a lot of things but one of the things He does hate is pride. It is a problem if you don't deal with pride you're going to fall. You're going to fall in a harmful way and a hurtful way. Pride is damaging, and this message takes a look at how life would be better, relationships would be healthier, and the consequences of decisions you make would be clearer if you dealt with pride in your life.
Week 10 - How About Worshipping God?
Worship is exalting and honoring God instead of yourselves. It's putting God in the center of our lives, and making him the focus. It's putting him above everything that you do in your life. This message is about worship, and what the changes are when it gets into your life; how that infects your heart, how amazing worship can make your life and totally change you.
