| Rating: | | Summary: Perfect for Student Leaders | | Reviewed by: Neal Benson (Henderson, NV) | Review: We used this book for our student leadership last fall and it helped them get it. I loved hearing our students talk about serving and being commited. It helped them to understand that they can reach out and help new students plug in. I am so glad we used it. |

I am a youth pastor in Naples, FL. I was once a student leader and I wish you wrote this book back then (late 1990s). I am giving a copy of this book to my student leaders tonight. I just finished the book and love it! Thanks for your helpful direction and experience in leading students. |
| Rating: | | Summary: Student leadership book | | Reviewed by: Emily | Review: Hi,
you don't know me, and i doubt you ever will. i am 12 years old, at the
end of my 6th grade year, and just finished reading your book. i thought
that it was great. i am so thankful that you wrote this book. i read it
because i am in a student leadership group at my church called solution.
so many times i have wanted to work for God in so many ways, but never
knew how. i have used many of the tips in your book to help me do so.
not many times have i read a book where students my age are treated like
humans, not just cute baby faces. not many times are we taken seriously.
i loved the final verse in the book, 'Don't let anyone think less of you
because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach,
in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.' (1
Timothy 4:12) this verse makes me feel strong enough to anything i want
to do for God. some of the hardest things i have faced is serving till'
it's over and being a clique buster. i tend to not have patience so i
don't always serve till' it's over with a happy heart. i did an
experiment where i didn't complain when my mom asked me to do chores,
and she was amazed, not that normally i am a whiner, but just that i did
it with a happy heart. she was so proud, it made me want to do it more,
not that it is always easy, but i can tell she and God are thankful for
it. it is hard for me to bust cliques because they scare me, a lot! i
don't have one of my own so i don't know how they work. my church,
thankfully doesn't have many cliques to bust, but i am working hard to
try and help people make friends with the new kid. i just wanted to
thank you for the hard work you put into this book to help us, the
youth, become stronger followers of God.
Sincerely,
Emily |
