• Seasonal Kickoff or Celebration Event: Bring parents and students together to celebrate what God has done in the lives of students and the ministry for a particular season. Also, these events can be used to launch the next season of ministry.


• Family Missions/Service Projects: Events such as serving at a rescue mission, serving at an orphanage, building houses together, etc. can all be used as ways to get families to serve God together.


• Family Camp: Create camping experience that is geared for families to be involved. This could be done as a church event or you could utilize and promote existing family camp programs as a part of camps or conference centers in your area.


• Family Fellowship Events: Be creative in designing events to promote fellowship and connection within families as well as between families. Events could include softball games, picnics, as well as a host of other ideas – anything that will get families to play and bond together. You can also plan Father-Daughter, Father-Son, Mother-Daughter, and Mother-Son events as well.


• Mother’s Tea: Have a regular meeting with the mother’s to discuss the youth group. Talk about their kids and pray for the group. This can be a support group for the mothers.


• Dad’s Breakfast: Provide a regular time for the father’s using an agenda similar to that of the Mother’s Tea.


• Parent/Student Meetings: Good family interaction and ministry can be enhanced through intergenerational programs that give parents and their teen-agers the opportunity to interact and discuss important topics.
